z-of-a stands for zone of avoidance — the patch of sky the Milky Way blocks from view. The metaphor is the point: there are real things out there that the consensus telescope can’t see.

We’re a fintech research shop. We take ideas other people won’t take seriously enough to test — old astrology systems, process metaphysics, brain network analogies, alternative biochemistries — and we apply them to the one thing where the test always rings out clean: financial markets.

Sometimes the idea dies. The astrology died. But the tool we built to test the astrology found a 788-day cycle in the credit market with p=0.021. That’s project #1, called Spectral. There will be more projects, on different angles, run the same way: take the idea seriously, build the test, publish what survives.

We don’t have the data scale of Renaissance and we don’t want it. We compete on angle, not on compute.
